This is James.

I came across this portrait as Willy, James and I concluded a hike in Highland Park. As we got back to our car, James dove into the back seat and endlessly twirled in circles. I couldn’t help but notice how the interior light lit his face. The sun had pretty much set as dusk settled in and I was already disappointed enough that I didn’t find anything interesting to shoot during that hike but this amazing dog came to light, literally.

James is 4 y.o. and his breed is unknown. I hope this image may give you the tenacity towards life just like this dog is able to portray. I was so captivated by this moment due to his eager joy of life outside of his home. After all, I guess this is the beauty, love and energy that will always be emitted by canines. They truly are a man’s best friend.
